The images of suffering due to the lockdown and the effects of the COVID pandemic still play like a slideshow in the mind’s eye.

In the midst of this, people from all walks of life, NGOs, institutions etc. reached out to help those in need. If there is anything COVID has taught us, it’s that we need each other. The virus tries to ‘distance’ us but we find new ways to connect and take care of each other.

As they do everyday quietly, Sisters across the country contributed to the COVID effort. They provided health care, offered up their institutions, provided food kits, sanitation kits, awareness programs… This is all in a day’s work for a Sister.

And here is one example of this work… The video shows the work of the Dominican Sisters of Charity of the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin during the pandemic.

“If we go to Sister, she will not leave us empty-handed”. Indeed.

This video is produced by the International Union of Superiors General (UISG). There are stories from Cambodia, Kenya, Brazil and this one from India. #heroeswearveils
